LOL this is CA there is no such thing as a "small fine"
Yes, true. But, a few years ago I got a "fix it" ticket for three separate violations on my drag car and only had to pay $10. Not sure what it is today, but it could have changed...

no tow chain 29004 it may be there I cant see it
    tinted windows 26708
no front plate or covered 5200/5201
Frame may fall under 24008.5a exceed 30"

Come on Kilr.....all of these are "equipment" violations not movers.

But if you really think about it how many cops drive taller and wider trucks ???
The ones in the real tall trucks are Firemen!!! :yuk:

The off duty officer was just being a dick. I’m sure he could site any lifted truck around.

As mentioned above, none of them are "moving violations." They would be cited as equipment violations that would have to be corrected and a small fine paid.
However, if you have extensive modifications, the cop could be an ass, decide the vehicle is unsafe for operation, and tow it.
Agreed.. The guy was full of crap. None of the obvious issues are "moving violations"..
window tint and no mudflaps, the tires can stick out but the full width and top 1/2 of the tire must be covered by a mudflap if they do, no front plate, are all correctable and would be fix it tickets (10 dollar fines)
Thats all i see. I have no clue on the front bumper but that truck definatly is not high enough to be over limit (head light, or frame) Our tahoe is lifted 13" with a 3" body on 40's and were only roughly 2" over the limit

It is my understanding you dont need mud flap unless you hit a certain height. His truck doesnt look that big.

Still needs mud flaps, but what officer in there right mind is going to cite someone for that! You'd have to earn that ticket :argue:
