I had a chance to look this car over first hand last weekend at the Goodguy's show in Pleasanton here in NorCal. To say that the pics on the website don't do the car justice would be an understatement. It is absolutely beautiful and the attention to detail is amazing considering it is a race car not a show car. Fresh from Bonneville, it was spotlessly clean except for the salt they left behind the tires. As far as performance, one of the crew put it this way, "we annihilated the record", at 255.412mph on the 230.853mph old record.
Driver builder George Poteet also gained entry into the 300 Mile Per Hour club while setting a record in the old Flatfire, now EcoFire at 325.934mph. Not a bad week for George and crew.
On a side note, Andy Green set a record in a diesel powered streamliner at 317.021 mph joining the 300MPH club as well. If you don't recognize the name, Andy Green is the current Land Speed record holder as driver of the British "Thrust SSC" at 763.035mph(two way average). 317mph probably seemed slow.
