I just recieved my HEI back from Performance Distributors. The paper work says the dwell was set at 22 degrees at 3000 rpm. Is that my timing setting ? it seems way to low. I have always set the timing at 32 to 34 at 3000 any imput ??????

Dwell is actually "soak time" for the coil, meaning that is the number of degrees between spark distribution. HEIs and the old school point systems are quite different in the required dwell, 28-32 was a standard ballpark number for single points. This 22 degrees has nothing to do with the actual ignition timing, that is still gonna be what you ran before........MP
