Thread: Who on HB run offshore?

Was out this weekend, launched out of San Diego bay. Always good to get out in the big pond. We ended up running and down the coast past Coronado and just had a blast. We we're not doing anything too crazy, had 5 onboard, but just enough to catch a little air. Shut the motors down , took a swin ,and just enjoyed being out there with friends in another boat. Just wondering who else on HB isn't afraid to get a little salty?

Are you running mufflers and do you get hassled at all?

5" dry exhaust with water exiting at tip. No mufflers yet. Last weekend I was approched by a red shore security boat in Huntington Harbor. He didn't say anything about the noise, just told me to move out of the middle of the channel. (We where floating for a minute while I finished the Silver Bullet)

I run out of Long Beach every weekend. Especially sweet inside the break wall just before sunset, water is like a lake. It is getting real popular with the big boys running twins with no mufflers. Only bad thing is half these guys are idiots. It is only going to be a matter of time when they start enforcing the law on being to loud. These guys are going to ruin it for everyone out there. They are going WOT about 300 yrds from shore when it is already past sunset. Don't you realize how loud your boat is, and its is going to start to piss people off that live along the shore line. This happens every Sunday evening. You guys know who you are, your the ones that sit at the bar all day and wait until it gets dark almost to finally take your boat out then blast along the shore on corked. It is only a matter of time before someone gets hurt or killed then they'll have to enforce a 35 speed limit within the break wall. Have some common sense and don't screw it up for everyone else!

but it's okay for you to run? Don't be a tool and get into the big boat verses little boat shiat. We are all on the same team and yes I have twins.

Being a tool..being on the same team...I need team players that dont f*uck it up for the rest of the team. You don't know me and I don't know you, but if you think that its ok to go WOT 300 yrds from shore and don't think the law isn't going to come down on you and I supposed to agree with that because were on the "same team" give me a break. And I never said everybody with twins is being a idiot. If your one of those that do it then your an idiot. Trust me I have a large offshore that is plenty loud, a lot louder then must of my buddy's twins. But we have common sense not to go WOT right by the pier, and I don't want to cork it up because of some peoples ignorance. Long Beach is really relaxed on the laws on the water, and if people like yourself think it is ok to hull ass after dark, well then your going to f*uck it up for the rest of us. I don't go WOT 300 yrds from shore where most likely the complaints will come from ether the restaurant owners, shop owners, or the residences. It has nothing to do with small boat against large boat. When we run we run along the break wall rocks away from any chance of disturbing anybody. Plus its a whole lot safer then taking a chance on hitting a wind surfer.
I have been going Long Beach for the last 15 yrs and this is the first year that this has been happening and it is a small group of people that are doing it. It is a shame that I see that there may be followers that are going to screw this whole place up. It only take a few to f*uck it up for the rest.
