Everything above...Might have a bind, i needed a steering swivel to get a better angle on my diverter, Do like 460 said,could have tightened the nut to far. Check on the way you have your cable ran, maybe to many binds or turns, you never know.
Mine was getting bad. I replaced the stearing cable myself and it was all good.
I got scared because my buddy broke a couple of cables when they got stiff.
Cheaper and easier to do on my terms in the garage vs paying someone to do it at the river while waiting for it.

OK cable experts. Tell me if this is a bad cable indicator. When boat is at rest its easy to turn the wheel, no binding. While underway, its harder to turn left than it is to turn right. I have to almost use two hand to turn left.
Might be worth pulling the steering cable to check... you'll be able to tell if it's any good once you've got it out of the boat. I was a little unsure about mine and as soon as I had it out of the boat it was obvious that it was in need of replacement.
