Hello all! new newb here

Just signed up,don't have a boat as of yet but I'm shopping and found this forum so I signed up to learn what I can.
Looking and used jet boats in the $5K to $7K range.
Never had a nice boat but I'm an old hot rodder from way back so I know motors.
Had my share of fast cars and am a long time Harley rider but I thought it was time to try something else so I'm a wannabe an look'n.
I've got a bike for sale or trade for a boat that I'm asking $5500 for and have $2500 cash saved up so hopefully my bike sells soon and I can go shopping.
I like both BB Chevys & Fords but don't really know much about the jet drives,what can ya'll tell to look for and what brands/models are good better best etc.
I need to learn all I can before I go shopping so help a newb out 'eh guys.

The bike for sale is a 2004 Sportster 883 with only 1000 miles on it.
Wife wasn't riding it and wanted a new Mustang convertible that was out of her price range so I bought the bike ( that I bought her ) from her to help her get her dream car.
It has new Vance & Hines pipes and isn't even broke in yet.
