Ok I installed a new MSD in my BBC. I wanted to check the total advance. I have a fancy timing light with the dial on the back.....How in the hell do I use it? Its been a couple years and my mind is BLANK... :crossx:
I did stick the dist. in and I turned till the motor sounded great. But Id love to find out my total. Thanks Dan
Set the dial to 32 or whatever total advance you want and spin the motor until all advance is in, 4500rpm or so? The timing mark will read zero when you are at 32 deg total advance and let the initial lie at whatever it is. It's the total timing you should be concerned about. Hope that helps.
