I got a .30 over 327 with much block prep.
The pistons are TRW forged Flat tops with factory steel Rods.
The piston tops are running on average .20 out of the hole + - .
I plan on going with the Cometic gaskets as I will possibly Spray the dog later. My question is what would be the minimum gasket compressed thickness that would be safe to run and still have enough piston to head clearances ???
    Thanks Gopherrr

FelPro makes a .052 gasket for the big block. Maybe for the small block also?
    Cometic is the best one.
.035 quench clearance if I remember correctly.

I ran my 4.530 pistons about .007 out of the hole with a .042 compressed thichness Felpro.
And had problems with the pin bushing becoming Eggshaped Because of the piston just litely tapping on the head.
Those where flat tops mind you, So I chucked it up in the mill and took .007 off of the face.
