Thread: Best place to watch races on Sunday in Pittsburgh?

I am thinking about heading out on the water to watch the races Sunday afternoon, but have never been there before. Was thinking about launching in Vallejo and heading over to Pittsburgh from there. Does anyone have any pointers, or good places to watch from the water? Any help would be appreciated. Also, is is better to leave the boat at home and drive? I hope not! Any courtesy docks available at Pittsburgh marina? I've tried to call harbormaster twice but no answer yet.
Thanks in advance for any tips!

We launch over a Orwood and run up tp Pittsburg. The Sheriff and the USCG set up course boundries to keep spectators of the course. The course runs around a large island right off of the marina. Any where on the water at the edge of the course is as close as you can get. From shore, your own your own. Good air show, and food after the race, have fun, look out for the Sheriffs BUI testing, saw it going on two weeks ago at the Walnut Grove intersection.

The best spot to be in is in a race boat.
