Or catch up to the other manufacturers. My 1999 Superduty came with a 5 yr 100,000 mi waranty.I think Dodge has been doing the same for a few yrs.
Got a letter from Chevrolet today. They're increaseing the warranty for engine and drive train to 5 years/100,000 miles from 3/36 on 2007 vehicles. (Includes Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation)
I guesss they want to try and attract buyers.

It's the equiv to about an 8% discount.
So if in addition, the good prices of the recent past are still avail, might be a good deal.
We love all our GM rolling stock.
But we know that fuel pump, alternator, water pump replacement will probably be part of the first 100 k.

Chris, Steve was waiting for your call??????????? looked at the paper too and the adds seemed good.
This sounds familiar
A similar warranty strategy was credited with helping Korean automaker Hyundai Motor, which offered a 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty on 1999 models after quality problems earlier in the decade. The move helped its U.S. sales rise 82 percent from a year earlier.
Seems the big 3 doing whatever they can to attract buyers.

The GM warranty is fully transferrable if you sell or trade. I think that is a step up from the other long term warranties available.
Does this apply to only new purchases?
When I bought my 07 Tahoe I remember being told it was 3/36k (only had the tahoe about 3 mos and already have 12k )

Nope. They're applying it to ALL '07s.
Look for a letter and an ammendment to the warranty coming to your mailbox soon. I've had mine since Jan. (9,000 miles)
Except that maybe the lame-ass STOKER sticker in the back window may void your warranty.
