I think $3,500 is cheap for a turn-key boat.
WHAT YOU GUYS THINK OF THIS....http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/4/7/82320147.htm I LIKE THE OLD SCHOOL FACTOR..HOW MUCH RPM OR HP IS LOST WITH TREW TRANSON EX??
I think $3,500 is cheap for a turn-key boat.
FYI if that motor is a 65-70 ish factory tripower 389 its wroth more then 3500...( asuuming that every thing is in good working order...)
I'm going to take a guess that it has nicson logs with elbows... They are not the best flowing parts, still for logs they are not too bad. ( rewarder makes pipes for both the earily "D port" heads as well as the latter ram air IV style heads) 375-400 range would be np. One thing to watch out for is even with the large 72 cc heads you comp ratio with flat tops will still be about 10:1 so ether get dishers or start cuting your fuel will race gas.
I called the guy..Cool dude..Went trew the whole boat top to bottom.. I am going to look at it this weekend i think..gotta sell my boat now......
If you have all the casting and stamping #s of the block/heads and the intake I can tell you what it came out of....
Cool..thanks..i Will Get The Numbers And See What Its Got..hey Said He Has 6 Grand Worth Of Paper Work On The Motor..so We Will See..my First Car Was A 66 Lemans..so I Like The Pontiac Deal..
I am rebuiling a 65 421ho froma bonnivile for my boat... parts are just not out there for a 421   for a 389 they are cheap...not for me....GL
That's a cool boat! I dig the old Poncho's. Had a few GTO's back in the late 70's.
A 400 with a 455 crank (resized mains) are the hot ticket for that boat to me.
Beisemeyer34 has the nicest Cole TR2 I have ever seen with a Poncho, full roller, Ram Air 421 (421 crank in a 455 block) with Mickey Thompson goodies gallor. And, he wants to sell it cheap! Boat came from Calif with a blown motor deal, he raised compression and put on a pro stock dual four and Ram heads. Boat has been in the water and out of his shop once in six years! Nice, nice, nice.......PM him
Might Be Gettin A Boat In The Am..do They Make A Tunnel Ram That Will Fit 3 Duces??
