Last night i put the bearings in the rods, miced the crank and then attempted to use the dial bore guage on the rods. Things looked to be going alittle better than when i did the mains but as i went on it seamed like it was getting alittle tight. Since i had issues using the dial bore guage with the mains i decided to use plastiguage on these also, well tonight i put in piston #2 with a peice of plastiguage and torqued it down to 50lbs using arp's lube (3/8's bolts). Pulled it apart and it looks like i'm getting closer to the .002 mark than i am to the .003. This plastiguage goes in .001 increments so i dont have a .0025 to compare with. Most of my dialbore measurments where on the tighter side of "OK clearance" but a few where under .0025. I also noticed on the old bearings they say 001 on them, it's also written on the crank. The bearings i have now are std.

But not quiet .003 either, it looked closer to .002 than .003

Old bearings, looks like federal moguel bearings and they have a 001 US on them, kinda hard to see...

Go with it. Rods are not that picky. 002 to .003 is fine.

If the big end of the rod is 2.324-2.325 than .002-.003 is cool, run it!

Infomaniac: Got a fax from you, but i think i'm missing a page, this page deals mostly with weight and cam/timing specs it looks like.

Sounds like only page 2 made it. I'll have Melissa send it again tomorrow.
