holyshit. I have 5 they have taken some real strong winds in the IE with no prob so far, knock on wood.
Busted it in the middle of the trunk. It is only about 3" thick. It will sprout out of the middle again, but I lost three nice fronds.
Well that sux. Mine are 30 footers I guess stong enough when larger.

About 7-8 years ago we had a Santa Ana wind at my house that would blow you to the ground, you could not walk in it (yes I tried), 100+ mph gusts were reported with 50-70 sustained for about 24 hours. It was ugly. Like a Hurricane without the rain but lasted longer. Trees down like toothpicks. But my queen palms survived it (which shocked the hell outta me). It has blown hard since then but nowhere near like that one.
