I just got off the phone with Dooley about an oil pan for my stroked 460. I was a little bit surprised by the price, $708. I knew they were expensive, just didn't know HOW expensive. Any recommedations ? Or is this bout what a 14 qt. pan is going to cost ? I was guessing around $500, but if that's what they cost then that's what I'll do. Just wondered if there were any other choices.
Yikes Droppy! I got Milodon used from Toddnjuzz and it's served me very well with no complaints. I know much as been said about Milodon pans but I'm happy.
Buddy of mine got an Armando built for his boat for big $$$ and wasn't really happy with what he got so I guess you never know. I was looking at Stefs but they were more than this old boat was worth......
But then if Lakes says Armandos gots it nailed for BBF you better go with him. He's probably forgotten more than I can ever hope to learn (suckup purely intentional)...

One thing about our pans that most have to consider is we don't start with an OEM stamping. We fabricate the entire pan from the seal radius's to the rails, to the sump. Our Affordable Jet pan for a 460 in aluminum with pan, pickup and pump is $664.00. 3 to 4 weeks leadtime.
Understand completely Chris. The stuff you put out is beautiful and custom and to be honest, your pans are so damn nice I'd wanna put it in the living room as art but the wife would probably kill me. The remark about it being more than my boat is worth is the truth but only because my old wreck aint worth much. Droppy knows.
Which ever pan you decide on get measurements of it before you purchase and make sure you have enough clearance under your engine.
Just because they call it a jet boat pan doesn't mean it will fit in any boat with a jet pump.A bud of mine found this out the hard way.
Drop,
I recently built a 21 Daytona my self and had to go with a smaller pan than I wanted because of the size of the tunnel in the Daytona. I went with a 10 quart pan but I have an oil cooler also. I don't remember what I paid and I am sure it isn't the greatest pan but I have 80 psi at idle and 90+ at speed. I did notice that on a hard launch the pressure dropped to about 40-50 psi until the boat came up on plane, but with that amount of bow rise, I think any pan would have shown the same symptoms. 40 psi should be enough I think.
Measure from the bottom of the block to the bottom/sides of the tunnel and find a pan that fits.
Mines a Chevy based motor but if you want to come look I'm only 2.5-3 hours south. Here's a couple of pictures:

DON'T spend the money on the Dooley. I made that mistake a couple of years ago with my BBC, and I now have a 14 quart pan that I can only run 11qts before the windaging gets out of control.
I'd check into a Olson (http://www.olsonmotorsports.com/), or from what I've heard an Armando's.
