I have been looking a Cats, mostly Daytona 28's and some have drive extensions and some do not. What do they do for the boat? How much does it cost to add them? Is it desirable to have a cav plate in the center with twin big blocks?
    Thanks,
    David

Buy my 30' Spectre and go faster......
Drive boxs make the boat run a couple of mph faster and make the boat think it is longer. That is what I have been told. If the boat didn't have them I wouldn't add them. Just look for one with the Merc. ITS set up. The cav plate is called a tunnel tab on a cat. it will help get the boat on plane easier and keep the nose down. Also get rid of a porpoise if it has one.
