I have the opportunity to buy a 1976 Baja project boat. It has new interior and carpet, it has a JE berkley pump and is set up for a 454. My plan is to paint it and put an engine in it and maybe keep it for a couple years and sell it. My question is this a good boat for ride control and comfort, and secondly is this a popular model or am I looking at buying something and will have to keep it forever because no one else likes the body style?
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for any help
I had a 78 for over 10yrs and loved it. It had a mild 466 Ford in it, ran 65mph all day. Handled rough water great pulled 4 skiers, parasail, tubes no problem. A great all around boat, very strong hull and very predictablel handling. Sold it last year for a fair price. It makes for a good all around boat. The JE pump is nice, I sucked up rocks and ski ropes, and the clean out is out side the boat, no problem - makes it nice.
