I have a 1980 model 20' Kona Daycruiser with a Volvo 280SP w/power tilt and trim on it. What would be a good replacement drive to go with and not have to rebuild the transome? I am running a 383SBC (short rod) 10.5:1 comp, with World Products Sportmans II heads, 375hp/350 cam shaft, RPM Performer intake, 750 vac. sec Holley carb. I am guessing a little over 400hp/tq. it runs 52-55 @ 5200rpm with a 14.5x21 ss prop.
Kona Mercruiser makes a transom plate for a volvo that bolts in and then you can bolt in a bravo transom shield and drive. I believe the plate is around $500-600 and is rated for 400-450 hp. I also have a brand new (never installed drive still in the box) Bravo 1 and transom shield for sale. Give me a call if this is something you maybe interested in @ 626-963-8568 Thank You Joel R.
