Dave did you ever get into these? I think they are bad ass cars.

Some of you know Don Zig the magneto man. He and a partner ran a gas Willys coupe with a straight eight similar to this! Don's partner, Richard Dietz and Harold Doolin put me into a Bantum bodied fuel altered in 1988 here in Spokane. In that car, I spit 4 rods under the rear slicks at 188! Gas, coupes, you couldnt get me into one, too dangerous!
Anyone remember the Aquacraft 'Hornet' SS56 from 1964? My #57 boat is a tribute to the famous Skip Volk and his Hornet Champion circle racer.

Hey Billy i remember that and the next pass Brad made there was a 217mph. and when bob burns showed up to drive he said if you dont do any better than 217 you are walking home. long way from pheonix to maryland ha ha. those where the good old days. the nitro bandit was crashed a couple of years ago. but brad always like driveing our deaver better than his, our took a set better and ran straighter and truer than his. i would love to cut the capsule out of it and make it an open boat again.

They were straight flatbottoms. Runner Bottoms came in about 74???? Billy could probably answer this better.

The '72 Hondo on the first page of this thread is a runner bottom and I don't think it was the first year they were out, not sure on that though.

Just out of curiosity, what happened to the first two boats you painted?
I know where #3 is. would my #3 be the oldest surviving. Did the first two
    have any history to them?
