We deal with Drew all the time...nice guy and seems to know Ford stuff inside out.
Has anyone delt with Drew Marine? I have been really interested in building the 540/572 ford that was in the March 2001 Hot Boat. Anyone ever build this, or does anyone have any feedback? I love my powerstroke, but I also want a boat that will be turn key all the time.

The only thing I can add about that article [it orig. was published by HB in 1995 or 96] is don't bother with the 6 cyl. rods, they are not an exotic metal as the article implys. All Ford engines use a mild steel [SAE 1060] material and with all the aftermarket rods on the market now it would be silly to use a stock rod.
Drew's kit was news back in the nineties, but now you can buy the whole rotating assembly from Scat as well as other vendors, and I'm sure it'll end up cheaper in the long run. Check out Scat's Website and look for the following part numbers in their catalog and price guides.
1-520HPS
1-532HPS
1-545HPS
1-557HPS
In addition they offer upgraded kits that replace the 9000 series vacum cast cranks with 4340 forged units.
Good luck,
Chris
