My anniversary is coming up next month and was thinking about going over to Catalina for something different. Anyone have any suggestions for a nice hotel with a ocean view for a night?
    How about a restaurant?
Not going to drag the boat home and get it salty so I have to take the Catalina Barf Express over.
    Thanks!

What about opinions? Anyone have first-hand experience?
When I click restaurants on that site it shows me places that are NOT on Catalina Island? WTF?

Chris the wife and I spent a weekend over there last December. We stayed at the Hotel Metropole. I would suggest that be at least in your top 2 places to stay. Beautiful place and the rooms are incredible. Here is a link. click here (http://www.hotel-metropole.com/) We had a great dinner at a little Italian place right around the corner from there that faces directly at the bay. Good time for sure. Hope that helps!

The twin harbor hotel has a few harbor view rooms. U can also rent a nice condo with a golf cart in the cove. They are really nice, sit on the cliff, and have great views. As far as the "barf express"......forgo that and take the helicopter over. 20 minute ride.....great view and not too expensive. I think it's 70 bux each way per person.
    Enjoy the island.
PM me if you need info on the condos.

Catalina is a great anniversary getaway, The helicopter is the only way to go! http://www.islandexpress.com/home.html Runs $150 round trip per person and you're there in 15 minutes.
This site has all the visitor info you need... http://www.catalina.com/main.html
The Hotel Villa Portofino is very nice, reasonable and beachfront. Steve's Steakhouse has some good food. A few drinks at the Blue Marlin is a must.

    Hey Chris
A friend of mine has a house over there.
It's really nice over there for an anniversary. Most of the restaraunts are pretty good, It depends on what kind of food you like. Are you guys going
to be staying in Avalon? The helicopter is cool for getting over there but the
boat is'nt that bad. It's actully kinda cool if the dolphins start riding the wakes and playing around. Hit me up with an e mail if you still have it and let me know what kind of food you like, I'll send you the names of where to go.

Thanks everyone. I thought this might be a less expensive alternative to something like Vegas, but seems like to do it right will cost me just as much.
Gotta check the finances first and make sure she doesn't kill me for spending the money and not see the romantic factor first.
