Sure is impressive looking, but the sad part is the speed records for jetboats then, was pretty low, well below 75mph. I likes seeing old ads and feature articles on muscle boats from the day.

This is just too cool:

This was (is) in Hot Rod's special Winter '05 MoPar issue. Couple of interesting points here: It's from '64; It's a Berk, It's a bona-fide cross ram wedge, and perhaps coolest of all is that it's built by Hayden Proffitt. He was an all around performance man back in the day. Tuner and driver. He ran a little bit of everything from z11 409's then made the switch (wisely I might add) to Plymouth in '63 & '64, then to Merc in '65.
Cool.

That's a cool old ad!
I've never seen a boat with a 426 Max Wedge!
very cool. thanks for posting it.
I think that's a Stevens hull. Does it say anywhere in the article if it is or not?
Dammitt!, I was expecting to see a pic of my Sidewinder all pimped out! Actually, I used to have a 413 powered V-drive, and I'm a huge fan of old Mopars (hence the user name) so, I would have to agree, that is a very cool boat.
The picture was in Hot Rod's special winter issue on Mop's that is pretty much just a picture book. (You know us MoPar guys; just pics, we can't read ) Unfortunately, I posted everything that was there. No article, just that little bity blurb.

Thru hull and over transom exhaust. You mopar guys are funny.
Got that issue too. Old mopar powered ***boats are cool.
Here's one that was recently on Ebay.......

I knew I'd seen that boat somewhere, just had to find it. 68 and 70 mph. Not bad for 1963 when you look at the pump placement, lack of any real pump hardware and figure in that these were among the first Berks done. Hell, that's faster than most jets on the water today.

That boat that was on ebay is beatuiful. I love Mandellas. Guy doesn't seem to know what he has, that's not a glass over wood hull. I wonder what he wanted for boat with out the engine?
