Thread: What outdrive do you buy for a Cat?

What kind of outdrive should I put on a 26' foot cat/tunnel boat? I was thinking 6 before but am told that might be a bit big for it. What type of drive should I do? Stand off box? Imco? XR Bravo? Teague? and what should I expect to pay for a good drive with everything? I have been reading/lurking here for a long time so I read about all of you guys breaking drives.
    Thank you

I have heard some good things about the new Konrad ACE drive. Supposed to be able to hold up to 1000hp someone correct me if I am wrong.

I love this place.... :rollside: :rollside:
to answer the question (seriously) you need at least an XR but contact Teague or max machine works and ask about their upgrades to the XR.
at 900 HP, the motor is going to be hell on drives. :crossx:
IMHO no matter what manufacturers want to call them and upgrade to a bravo 1 design is still and upgrade to a flawed design. They are just delaying the inevitable failure.
There are some people that do sixes on a 26 but they require extensive modifications to the hull.
