estimate to replace 2 pistons!

Im not a outboard person but i have a chance to pick up a tunnel hull Daytona style w/a mercury 2.4 bridgeport, top 2 pistons need to be replaced. already sleeved ? no other motor work but 2 new pistons no damage otherwise, how much we lookin at!

I'd say you're looking at an expensive learning curve. That's my estimate.

Carb or EFI? Might have an injector/carb problem that needs to be addressed.
As far as costs go, you'll need to hone (most likely bore and hone) those two sleeves, two new pistons and ring sets. Are the rods ok? Gasket set.
Should run:
Bore/hone 2 cyls ~$300
2 pistons/rings ~$500
Gasket set ~$200
If no other work is needed, and you do the labor yourself, add about $150 for shipping the block both ways to someone like Jim Ruck, plus shipping on the other parts.

Its not my boat but I am familiar with it.
The cyls are in good shape and they wont need bored just a hone.

If it's already been sleaved it may have had this problem before. If the motor stuck the pistons you may be looking at bent rods and even a bent crank.

I would think if the top 2 cylinders burnt that the problemis cooling not fuel. I would make sure the water pump is good and that the water passages are all clear.

(sort of) ! i did'nt buy this outbourd it was just offerd to me at a good price fixed or broken! but i still have to sell one more boat to get my my money's ! to buy another boat thats ready to go !yours was the best deal out there. for a complete sanger bubbledeck !
