I don't have a Magic but I do have a 4,500 lb boat + tandem trailer. I tow it with my 5.3 Burb. Handling and breaking are no problem. Horsepower is a huge problem. I will be the 1st guy in line when (really IF) they offer the diesel Burb.

I tow my 05 28' Sleek with our 05 crewcab 1500 (3:73 gears and tow package and 8100lb tow capacity)
It tows fine around town and I use it to go from Parker to Havasu but I would avoid any huge grades.
Also the Avalanche is built on the Suburban chassis so it weighs alot more than my truck.
