the 2 things that would concern me are the tranny and the "being able to stop and/or maneuver quickly" . The tranny simply isn't going to put up with
towing that much weight in 100+ degree heat going 75+ mph or better.
The bit about the vehicle reminds me of a guy who would put his deckboat
in the water and then take it home with a cj5 Jeep. since it was a quick 2 mile ride, the jeep didn't worry about the tranny or the power but one day
someone ahead slammed on the brakes unexpectedly and although the
deckboat trailer had good brakes, it ended up pushing the jeep sideways
through the intersection ahead. in other words, it tossed the jeep around
like a ragdoll. If the suspension, or the wheel length or the weight of the
tow vehicle isn't right, you're going to eventually wreck the vehicle. Not good.

Great info. Keith. Thanks
I have an Avalanche with a 5.3. Wondering how that would work going up the grade on I-10.

That's funny
Towed my 26 ft. Commander like yours with a Ford 5.4 liter........killed the tranny. Went with Chevy 2500HD.

Seeing the Avalanche is a Suburban with a box instead of a 3rd row seat the truck is large enough but it will be way under powered.
I have the same truck and am towing 6,000 lbs. Flats are ok, but hills (or slight incline) suck. Borderline for towing my boat. Can't image it towing the Magic Deck boat... full time any way.
However it does pull the boat up the driveway...for now :2purples:
