D', what kind of increase did you get from the stern jack? Also who's did you go with?
<<Rookie's guess but for a 22 mph increase that is going to take a lot of Hp.
    Thks for info!

Your not going to see 3 digits with just work on the top.

Also, there are blowers, and there are blowers. How much boost are you running? I have seen as low as 7 lbs, and as high as 27 lbs. More engine details would be nice as well, and have your touched exhaust?

The 525SC is based off the 454 Block, and the SC is a B&M 250 (I think)...You would need close to a 1000Hp to push that heavy of a V boat near triple digit. The 454mag is a good block with good internals, but too small to try and reach those HP numbers...you would have to step up to a 540 or Bigger Merlin block and go with an 871 or bigger blower setup with all the right other goodies heads, cam, etc...to get to that 1000HP number.

mbrown2, I agree with everything you say except one thing. The blower on a 525SC is a Weiand 177. Even smaller than the 250! It's made to make about 550 horsepower max. You're right more cubes and bigger blower ought to do it

What would you guys think about building a 496 stroker than adding goodies on top (250 blower?,alum heads polished and ported with the cam upgrade.
