Underground economy/black market labor and services is the next BFD.
Taxes and regulation has not only hit a paradox, it's exceeded it.
Probably Half the white people and most the Asians I know that run businesses pay no taxes, or very little taxes at all.
I get asked to do for cash / no recipt discount work frequently.
It's getting into mid-size business too.
It's all who ya know and working on pure good reputation.
None of the smokers in my circle of friends pays more than a buck for a pack of cigarettes.
If they have a trade, they work under the table.
    It's the rage now.

    I would question the source(s),
But I am sure at least half of your post is true.

According to the most controversial study of those discussed here, the benefits and costs of immigration to the United States in 1992 add up to a total net cost to all levels of government of $42.5 billion. This study, by Donald Huddle, was sponsored by the Carrying Capacity Network, a nonprofit group that advocates major reductions in immigration to the United States. "The Costs of Immigration" (Huddle 1993) uses estimation procedures that include a variety of errors. When these errors are corrected, the post-1970 immigrants in Huddle's study actually show a surplus of revenues over social service costs of at least $25 billion
Wsuwrhr is right, a good portion of the email is valid...

    Snopes. com is your friend.
I just pasted the last paragraph here in case people didn't want to read all the rest of the page on Snopes.com

    Because it's not really true?
If you read the whole article I linked, or just the last paragraph I copied, you will see that illegal aliens have contributed $25 billion net to the economy. That'll never be on the news, guaranteed.
It's easier to sell papers and ad space with sensational, slanted news.
The truth isn't as exciting as lying and blowing things out of proportion, I guess.
Why do people hate the truth yet love to repeat damn lies?
    Cheers

You've got to be kidding, right? The liberal media? Not a chance.
I was in downtown Phoenix on Monday and got caught in the middle of a protest by ASU students against our Proposition 300. (Would prevent illegal immigrants from getting "in-state" tuition rates).
The news just talked about the poor kids just trying to better themselves, and they would lose out on higher education.
A US citizen who happens to live in CA or NV has to pay 4 times what someone in the country illegally pays at any AZ University or College. All the while our AZ residents (US Citizens) are subsidizing their Education with our Tax Dollars.
Anyone else see a problem with that?

    That study was 1993.
Since then another 14 million illegals have come here. If the same study was done again, I think the figures would be quite different.

College students will protest anything, you know that.
If the illegals are living in AZ do they pay the same rate as a US citizen living in AZ?
    Thanks

    Yes.
And they bring their illegal cousins and other relatives from other states, claim they live here, and THEY get in state rates, too.
