Blower Belt....

Ok here is what I know. There is a guy that has built a 27 or 28 foot cat style tunnel boat with this type of set up. From what I know and seen he is running a single 600+ cid Blown Chevy around 1600 hp I was told. The set up goes through a W drive Casale because they are driving two Arneson Surface Drives. He is using kevlar belts to go from the W drive to a trans that drives the Arnesons. I don't remember how long the belts were but they are 5" wide 14mm kevlar belts. It is quite a set up. They are still experimenting so I have no idea what the reliablity is.

We plan on setting-up a deal with a 1400cc engine out of a rice rocket.. Turns 16,000 rpms, shaft driven w/ 5 speed trans..

Seems I remember hearing that turning the blower on a top fuel dragster takes over 1,000 HP. What is that belt made from?

That Jones tunnel I have, from what I understand was originally set up to run the prop shaft off a blower belt. After Dicks wife sold the boat somebody removed that set up & installed a transmisson & v-drive box.
