you calling me a FNG or what?
In 1963 I had my first jet boat. It was a Buhler Turbo Craft with a Hamilton Jet in it.....

These little clips are of Hamilton going up the Colorado river in 1960 testing his new jet drives. This isn't the part of the river that we all know and love, it's the rough part, up in the Grand Canyon. National Geographic did a story on it too.

Easy to do, especially if your boat is set up for it. Have to find some more pics of these. Basically 'fake' a turn in one direction, then quickly turn in the other, as the boat starts to bite come straight off the gas and the boat will do the rest. Some boats will need to be at faster speeds than others. Beware you go through some good G forces, and if you are sitting in the front and are going to quickly this can throw you around the boat.
Called the Hamilton turn after Bill Hamilton who invented the jetboat
Take a look at a sprint boat doing a couple of turns by mistake.
1000HP and 12-13 foot I would guess. (not my boat)

If you have the right boat you can do turn after turn. Just one thing your oil pickup must be able to keep the pressure up even when all the oil is on one side of the sump ! So far I have given 4 people bruised arms because they were not holding on tight enough. LOL
Here is a good line of photos from the Kiwi Jet page of the Hamilton Turn
