polishing always needs to be polished again and again and again you get the drift.
Alright, I've been tossing the idea around of polishing the bowl, droop and nozzle on my POS boat. I figure since I can't run with the big dogs, at least it'll look good on the trailer...
Who's done it and what is the best way to remove the original PC that comes on the pump? I know how to do it and what it'll take just looking for the best way to remove the white powdercoat originally on it. Would it be best to just sand blast it?

i wouldn't do it......you don't need to run with them, the big dogs are usually on their trailers anywayshttp://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k265/squirtnmyload/00000036.gifhttp://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k265/squirtnmyload/00000036.gifhttp://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k265/squirtnmyload/biggrin2.gifhttp://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k265/squirtnmyload/biggrin2.gifhttp://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k265/squirtnmyload/biggrin2.gif
You'll be sorry...........
wouldnt recommend polishing unless u like repolishing every couple trips out unless you clearcoat it after initial polish
ok...yes to keep the brilliant shine, it would need to be polished constantly...otherwise it will return to a raw aluminum finish...kinda like the swingarm on your MX bike looks...k lets say you polish it and then shoot some clear over it? I was going to polish the frame on my old CBR900RR and that's what everyone said the way to go is...
Now, would polishing and then shooting clear over the pump hold up?
Nope. I've heard the clear will turn yellow. Have it PC'd, they have colors now that look real close to polished aluminum...
Okay, now to PC it, do you need to remove the old PC or just sand it good?
Just rattle can that shit... A little okie chrome and youll be looking swass and gain about 10mph.
Anyways, I dont know what you have to do to prep the surface for powdercoat, I would imagine they would prep it the way they wanted. But I just wanted to say I have seen the nice powdercoating jobs and they look 10 times better than polishing. Good luck
Beadblasting is the best prep...saves some money instead of having the PC's do it. my .02.
