Snoop Dogg was booked Monday morning on one felony count of possession of a deadly weapon. The charge was
filed after security officers at John Wayne Airport found a collapsible baton in the entertainer's carry-on luggage.
The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, turned himself over to authorities at the Orange County Jail. The district attorney's office said the entertainer is expected to post $150,000 bail.
If convicted, the 35-year-old rapper could be sentenced to three years in prison.
The incident occurred Sept. 27 as Broadus prepared to catch a flight to San Francisco.
The rapper told sheriff's deputies at the time of his arrest the baton was a prop for a movie. The charge was filed Nov. 2 and an arrest warrant was issued. His attorney, Donald Etra, has called the charge "bogus."
He is full of it.
