So i have this Mallory Super Mag II i have had for awhile and was thinking about using it on my latest project. 468 tunnell ram motor, it had a MSD in it. So i pull it out an take a look at them side by side. The Mag is about a 1/2"-3/4" longer? What gives, is it for a tall deck?

Compare location heights. There were low and tall deck tach drive bases also.
So is it worth running a spacer or just buy a box and run the MSD?
Run the mag, put a spacer on it, you can buy distributors with spacers to accommodate both deck heights!.. But like Bob says, compare locations!..
Thanks for the help, I'm not a machinest so can you buy a spacer and where? Never seen them advertised.
All they are is an adjustable collar, I'm sure MSD or Mallory has them or any HP distributor MFG???..

Can't you just take a distributor gasket to a machine shop as a template and have them make a spacer out of .400 aluminum?
