The 3rd anual C.I. Run (and raft this year) will take place the weekend of Dec 16th. For those that want to get out with fellow boaters to enjoy the Channel Islands and the surrounding areas. It has been a great event and turn out the last two years and this year is sure to be no different. Event plan will be as follows.
Sat. 12-16-06 arrive 9am at Channel Islands launch ramp (Victoria Ave. south of Channel Islands Blvd, Oxnard). Launch at 10am run to tip of Anacapa Island (the arch) and around the back side of Anacapa to Smugglers Cove (Santa Cruz Island). We will meet up with a large Hatteras that will already be anchored in the bay awaiting our arrival. Boats will raft up for an hour or two, then run to Ventura Harbor for lunch at the Greek. (Guest docks will be provided).
After lunch run back to C.I. harbor. If people want to stop at The Whales Tale for drinks they may do so at this time.
Dinner at Capastrano's (Embassy Suites Resort) at 8pm.
Sun. 12-17-06 Brunch run to Ventura Harbor.
There are guest slips in Channel Islands Marina directly next to the launch ramp. Slips and parking for trailers can be reserved through the Channel Islands Harbor Patrol (Contact Gary).
If you wish to spend the night on your boats, you are welcome too. If you want to stay at a hotel, I recommend The Embassy Suites Resort:
