so, who has the intimate knowledge of these things?
My old Toshiba (4 years old) has bit the dust. Outta here. Lizzie McGuire DVD just wouldn't spin in it this morning for my daughter and now the hunt is on for a new one.
I have Dolby Digital DTS receiver stuff (it sounds good and I have no idea) from Denon with a Sony 60" LCD HDTV.
What should I look for? I'm not looking for an ultra top end big dollar setup, just something that will play, look good, and be economical. We play around 4 to 5 DVDs a week on the thing, so it ain't gonna be no slouch.
    Thanks.

Ditto, but only if you are going to use it with the DVI connection.

Thats nice. We have a Go Video DVD/VHS combo that we bought from COSTCO. It is definitely not high tech but does play nice and does what I want. I think we paid about $100 for it.

Good point, this player must be used with a DVI or HDMI to DVI connection. When you look at all the other top 10 players in that shoot out, they are all $1500 to $3000 players. This player is a great value. It is also region free.
