Individual pieces can be burried in old flower garden or mulch prep area and kept moist....about a week
I'm making some things for the yard, and I want the raw steel to get rusty for the vintage old rusty crusty look.
What can I do to speed up the rusting process? Not much moisture here, so waiting for it to rust on it's own might take a while.
I was thinking a dip in pool acid might help the process, but there must be other ways.

salt water...
Spritz the metal with muratic acid (follow safety precautions) rinse off the acid and put the metal in salty water. 55 gal. drum, cheapie kiddie pool etc.
If you want a really rough look, put the piece in a bonfire then the salt water trick.
Anything rougher than that, ship it to me and I will run my D-8 over it a few times.
Be good, Jim
Give it to Later and let him take it for a ride on his boat....
