Thread: carpet removal

    does anybody have any good way to remove carpet thats been stuck to the floor and gas tanks for 30 years...and any tips on what carpet to put back in it and a good glue....any tips would great....thanks

    If you just let water sit on it for awhile the glue will start to release. Then pull! hard.

    HomeDepot sells it. Most hardware stores will have it as well.

    Gas. My tank leaked and my carpet came up. LOL

    . . . or any other paint store. If you go to Home Depot it will be in the paint department with other solvents.

    What glue I couldn't get off by hand, I sanded. Used a waterproof outdoor glue from home depot and deluxe carpet from west marine. Came out soft and sweet!

    I put that deluxe carpet from West Marine in my last boat with 3m glue. Great carpet and was easy to work with. Going back for the same next week for the Southwind.
