i have videos already in my itunes that i downloaded from limwire. i want to get them on my ipod.. when i drag the file into my ipod like i would a song it doesnt go.
they probably aren't in the correct format. i'd be careful downloading stuff from limewire too, you never know what you are getting, the stuff could contain viruses.
They have a software program you can buy at the Apple Store, I think it is called "Toast" and should do the trick.
what does the software do? convert the files?
There is another product from Slysoft called CloneDVDMobile.... You can take DVD's or Video's in MP3 format and it can convert them into scaled down use for the Ipod or other mobile porable video MPEG player...
I bought the suite from Slysoft that ClonesDVD, DVDMobile, AnyDVD (descrambles copyright protection) and ClonesCD's....I have tried other free products and they lack....this suite you have to buy and it rocks and you get what you pay for...

This is the Video to Ipod converter software I use.
I have about 5-6 movies on my Ipod using this software. Works fine.
Make a playlist for the video, add the video to the playlist. Upload to the pod.
Oh, and I use handbreak for mac to rip the dvd's.
If that doesnt work you can always try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8H29jU8Wrs
Havent had one fail yet using Xilisoft DVD to iPod Converter 4.
We have put 19 full length movies onto her Ipod. Movies are roughly 1GB when converted.
Must be mp4 format.
