I think we're gonna need a bigger boat And a really, really, really, really big Impeller eek!
Turbine power is the way of the future. Light, high hp, long wot runs with no problems. there is a reason they are using them in the unlimiteds. i have a project boat in the works with twin t-53-13's 1350hp each and only 500lbs each. i have a pair that cost me less than building my new 540bbc.
Hey I'm with you man! Turbine Power!!! I saw a 20-21ft Kurtis Hydro with a T-35 Lycoming. It was also a project boat and was for sale. I can't remember where I saw it. I love to hear those turbines spooling up!
Turbines are awesome, but the fuel consumption is a problem. I read an article on one of the Skaters, might have been "Jet Set", that was running turbines. They said it burned 65 gallons an hour at idle, and 75 gallons an hour at WOT. eek!

there is a good lengthy article on this engines development in this months Poker Runs America magazine. It appears to be a modified production engine not an aluminum block.
hey 502 where did you pick up those turbines
