Stick with the cable deal, it's simple and it works!..
Picked up another Sanger to swap parts with my current 69 sanger. Was only going to use the Casale Box and Hullcraft Tach from this boat. then I noticed that the parts boat boat has a Morse cable (stuck!) and box asm. to steer the boat. My current boat uses a chain, cable and pully setup. Should I swap out this for the cable setup. Advantages?

You already found the major disadvantage to the Morse cable.
David, DITTO to both previous answers.
The Morse cable type works ok but....
If you want to be a REAL V-DRIVE GUY stick with the chain and cable.
It's been around since dirt and it's still used in all race boats! TOM..
Morse is ok I think it is a little cleaner looking than the cables but you must keep all water out of the boat. because if you get water over the ends of the cable the water will wick up the cable and rust it into place. It is very strong and a good postive steering system though. the cables have more maintance and safety items to check (ie. cable wear at all the bends) they seem to always work until they break a cable hopeful all of us flatties are checking the cables for broken strands of wire and wear points. not a fun item to have break while making a WOT pass. good luck with the boat lets see some pics.
"Morse is ok........... but you must keep all water out of the boat" sounds like I'll keep the cable setup always have some water in the boat sloshing around. thanxs again david
Chain and cable setup is more positive reaction and you've already seen the problem with the Morse type as mentioned above. I'd definately stay with chain and cable in this type of boat.
