Front and rear case seals on a 177. TBS said gasket the front and no gasket on the rear, just locktite.. Is this correct? Thanks.

I rebuilt my 177 and my 174. I used a gasket in both cases. It's not to seal any oil , but to provide clearance between the rear bearing plate and the back of the rotors. The first time I put the 177 together(at the age of 18), the rotors siezed against the back of the blower. I made a gasket out of a Cereal box and flat filed everythig flat and problem solved. Weiand told me what the clearance spec was supposed to be, can't remember now.
Nobody wants you to rebuild your own blower, they want you to think it is weird voodoo science, so that you have to send it to them, and they can keep it and sell you a new one cause yours was "junk". Then they put 5 bucks worth of parts in your old one and sell it for 2500 bucks. Sorry for the rant- been around the hi performance world too long. LOL Blowers are pretty easy to do yourself if you pay attention.
