Buffing usually doesn't do much good without sanding first. Just curious, why are you buffing the bottom anyways?

Orbital sander, a damn good one like from Porter Cable – trust me on this one!! Start with 320 or 400, then 800, then a 1000. Get real comfortable; take mass amounts of Ibuprofen and numerous beers at night so you’re yours arms relax at your side and do not point at the ceiling.
I completed a 27' day cruiser just a month ago. Sand down the entire bitch or was that boat, shot the PPG’s best exterior auto paint, then the PPG’s best urethane (another real joy to work with – cover yourself and have a damn good respirator), new carpet and now wrapping up the interior. Yes sirre, I'll be so damn broke I can't afford the gas to run this summer, but it looks great in the driveway
    What was the question???????????
