Guys, Started to buff the bottom of the my hull. This is not fun...should i start with wet sanding?
At this pace i won't get the boat in the water this year.

I am feeling your pain brother I started with 320 grit on a ordital and finished wth 1200 block
Tell me about it...I Wet color sanded my WHOLE 21 1983 Daytona...but she's standing tall!
Buffing usually doesn't do much good without sanding first. Just curious, why are you buffing the bottom anyways?
Finished, 400 then 1000 grit and buff, the bottom never was painted, looks like it now though. Do not care to do that agian.
Orbital sander, a damn good one like from Porter Cable trust me on this one!! Start with 320 or 400, then 800, then a 1000. Get real comfortable; take mass amounts of Ibuprofen and numerous beers at night so youre yours arms relax at your side and do not point at the ceiling.
I completed a 27' day cruiser just a month ago. Sand down the entire bitch or was that boat, shot the PPGs best exterior auto paint, then the PPGs best urethane (another real joy to work with cover yourself and have a damn good respirator), new carpet and now wrapping up the interior. Yes sirre, I'll be so damn broke I can't afford the gas to run this summer, but it looks great in the driveway
What was the question???????????
