Getting ready to change the strut angle and placement on my buddys 21' River Cruiser to improve top end handling. Engine is a blown 540, anybody know what angle we should use and how far the end of the barrel should be from the transom. The boat runs 100 mph now, but is a handful at top speed.

Don't ask me. Mine's a 9 degree right now and I'm gonna watch this one real close. I've been thinking about changing it to a 7 - 7.5 myself. I gotta make up my mind real soon too. Tom's going to be shipping my v drive back pretty soon.

My 21 schiada is at 7.25 degrees. It has a Brummet, dual Gentry, 1191 hp @5300 RPM.
I think anything between 7 and 7.5 you will be o.k.
    Good luck.

For what it's worth, a very knowledgeable friend
of mine says that it's 21" from the barrel to the
transom for the 21' boat, 22" for the 22' and 24"
for the 24' boat. That's what I heard and I do
trust him but mine is about 2" off and I'm thinking of changing mine too.

So this 21" is to the transom or the end of the cav plate? Anyone have the # for a 20' schiada??
