Thread: New best time

    Went to the track on sunday for the last race of the season. The first time slip is just after I drove 35 miles and unloaded and got in the lanes.
    The second time slip is after hot lapping the car and I had a back fire when I fired the motor and the smoke rolled up around the blower, I thought odd but ran the car thinking it cam out of the back fire valve, picked up my time slip and noticed some smoke. I found the intake manifold bolts backed off and it was blowing oil from between the head and intake. I tighted it and ran the last time before the rain came to see if it would hold. It ripped the 11.73 at 116 lost some mph in the lights due to some boost getting past the now smoked intake gasket. Loaded up my junk and drove it home, will put intakes in soon.

    Congrat's on the new time record! I know you've had a picture on here before I think, but what kind of car and power Your season is just ending, our good season at the drags is just starting Of course, mine's no where near running, but it's nice to work in the garage when it isn't 200 freakin' degrees out there!!!

    Craig This big ol pig, weighs 4360lbs, with a blown 440, stock bore and stroke, stock valves, iron heads, 727 trans, 2.76 to 1 rear gear, on 275-60 street tires. Where do you race and what do you have??

    looks like you red lighted on the last one. damn close to dead nuts though. your reaction times are pretty damn good.

    Yup, one thou of a second away from a perfect lite, if you aint red lighten you aint tryin.
    That was just time trials, didn't go to first round do to rain. Oh well there is always next year, now I can get my gears changed and put some slicks under it, look out 10.90's eek!
