Thread: Horsepower limit

If I purchase some H beam rods, will I have to grind if I go to a 4.250 stroke, in a Mark IV block, with a .700" lift cam? Does anyone have any thoughts concerning the horsepower limit that a GM forged crankshaft can withstand? How about 7/16" rods with ARP bolts?

I'm running them with arp bolts, if I do it over gain I'll buy good ones. I believe I've got 900 hp.

With the absence of a dyno, all I have is a desktop dyno report. According to that, I have 630 where hp crosses the torque curve (5250 rpm, I think). My rpm limit is intended to be 7,000. It shows 850 Hp and 640 torque. The engine is blown and I want to add a whipple intercooler this winter. According to desktop dyno, the increase would be 820 at 5250 and 1090 and 810 at 7,000. I doubt I'll have my foot in it for very long.
