I have a Littlefield 8-71. When I was racing Blown Gas Flat I re-stripped it every other race. Not that I not racing anymore I set it up looser and backed off the overdrive. Now I just run it. It has lasted a very long time and I an still happy with it. You might want to change the oil in it once a season.

I'm in the process of buying my first blower motor, can this package be a reliable and dependable motor?????? It was slightly used some wheres around 10 hrs, the motor is a bored 502 with 510 cubic" now, JE 7:8 to 1s, solid roller cam,8:71 Littlefield that was blueprinted, 2 Nickerson 750 cfm holleys, running 4 1/2 lbs. boost, making over 800 hp @ 6000 rpm,and gobs of torque, over 700 ft. lbs thorough out the dyno chart, the builder said the motor was built for off shore use meaning it can take high RPM for a long distance, he said 400 hrs of use is not unusal for his motors.

Sounds like a nice piece to me. Do you know anything about the cam, valve springs and rods? The 4.5 pounds of boost is telling me that the blower is turning pretty slow and that's a good thing for what it sounds like your using it for. (lake boat) I assume you plan on using pump gas with this? It should be fine.

The rods and crank are stock GM [forged], solid roller cam, don't have the specs on it yet. I let you know later this week. Everyone tells me the stock rotating mass will with stand 6500 rpm easily> Whats your opion??

Hey Fat RatI have had a Blower built for my Jet boat- A 21' Tunnel hull Liberator, Same bottom as the older Daytona but with 8" more freeboard. I love the Boat. I bought it with out power or pump , Dave at Liberator set my intake for me so most of it was a bolt in job. I ran it for a year with a Gm Performance 502/ 502 and it ran nice at 4900-5000 rpms and the best top speed i got was 79 and change on a GPS. Well the need more speed hit so i had a blower motor built with my Littlefield 6 71 I had it dynoed with the 7% drive on both under and over with the over drive it made 842 hp with the under it was in the 750's (i need to look at the dyno sheets again fot the overdrive) I want the motor to live. I as want to be able to turn up the blower speed it i wanted to so it needed to be well built. B&B in Redding Ca built the motor.Your set up lookes good - good luck with it

That is still to come i will let ya know this summer. I am shooting for 100 but isnt everyone??? you can see my dyno sheet and spec sheet here http://hometown.aol.com/blown509/myhomepage/index.html
I will be running a Legens SS A cut and Bp By MPD to let me run at 6000 RPM where my motor makes about 800 and 700 ftLb of torque. MPD will also be getting my pump in a Weeks and Jack will be BP the pump. If Call Jack he know his stuff better than anyone. MPD's Web site is http://home.pacbell.net/jmcclure/

An A is plenty big...if it is an A prepped and setup by MPD. Marine Performance Designs. Jack sets up pumps so tight that they are almost as efficient as a prop. For example: My Daytona 21 runs 85.5MPH (GPS'd) at 5100 RPM With a MPD prepped Legend A in his Stage 3 pump setup (Berk JG, Droop, Place Div. with insert nozzle, stuffer and prepped and flowed bowl). 6-71 running 1:1 462 BBC.
