Fraudulently lending a respected economics professor's name to it attempts to give it an air of legitimacy.
On one hand, it is a cute little story, but on the other, it's childish. The whole "lynching" is the part that gets me, and the "paying for beer" aspect is blatantly playing to Joe Sixpack.
If they were paying for heat and shelter, or other basic societal necessities, you bet the rich guy wouldn't be getting "lynched".
Let's face it, the really rich have enough money to find (and fund) creative tax shelters offshore.
And OT, I like my neighbors. Well, 3 out of 4 at least...

I missed the "lynching" part. Here in TX it's where you hang a feller from a tree........
It blatantly plays to Joe Sixpack cause Joe is generally the one that doesn't get it. I didn't realize we had gotten so highbrow around here.
