In hopes of warm weather I decided to put up this old post from roostwear.
The Blue Water Resort Casino is actually a pretty nice place to stay. Rooms are comparable to the River Front rooms at AVI but they also have a balcony. The Resort has a nice water park with a slide, spa and several pools.
They river it’s self is pretty nice and there was no waiting for the water to come up. We traveled from the Headgate Rock Dam, past the dock bars and then up to the Parker Dam. The water was cold but pretty smooth and the wind didn’t pick up to about 4:00 PM. The ride up took just over a half and hour. However, this stretch of the river looks like it could get pretty crowded with boats on a typical summer weekend.

More docks. This is the view from the Blue Water.

The Blue Water also has a Cantina and amphitheater on the river.

We started our trip at Headgate Rock Dam.

After the 5 MPH zone we worked our way up to Road Runner one of the dock bars. We didn't stop but it looks like a pretty cool hang out.

Just a little further up river and we hit Fox's. My Dad use to hang out at Fox's when he was in his teens and early 20's pretty cool that it is still there.

We ended up going back to Fox's later and checking the bar out. That place is a real money pit. I was talking to the bartender about all the money hanging all over the place and he said that the story goes kind of like this "back in the 60's when kids would come out to the river to party, they would always leave a couple bucks at Fox's so they knew that they would always have enough money to buy a drink when they came back for the next vacation." Kind of funny the first name I saw when I sat at the bar to order a drink was Lew Larson (Ugly Customer of Lew Larson Racing). Lew was the one that had assembled my engine for me last year. There was a couple other names that I recognized from ***boat too.

Lisa thought it might be a good idea to continue the tradition.

We stopped at the Parker Dam and floated for a little while.

The water was a too cold for Lisa but I jumped in a couple times.

After a little while we ended up heading back to the Blue Water. This area by the Parker Dam and a Hazard about halfway between the dams is the only part of the river that I saw that was some what low. It was roughly about 5-6 feet deep.

We got back to Blue Water at about 4:00 PM cleaned up the boat and headed to the Water Park.

Cool post! I wish there were places to run like that around here. Dig the bar with the old money & stuff on the walls. I could drink there for hours, I mean really enjoy soaking up the history of a river hangout like that.

Back in the 80's when my dad was really into jet's. He tells me he used to go to a river hang out on the Paker strip called ( Sundance). Anybody remember such thing and what ever happened to it??

It's been closed for several years.
In the comparison to the Avi, someone forgot to mention that the rooms are twice the price at the Bluewater. . . but the slips are a major plus. No slips at the Avi.
