Just looking for info on renting a houseboat on the Delta. Good idea or not?? Where is the best place to deal with?? Can I pull my own boat with the houseboat? And just a general idea of where to start looking for more info would be greatly appreciated...........

    Happy Hour,
Try this site, it brings up a lot of centrally located marinas.
    http://www.californiadelta.org/deltamarina.htm
    Click-Herman & Helen's
    King Island Resort
    Paridise Point Marina
Not 100% if they are the top notch houseboat rental places on the delta,
but from experience H&H,and Paridise are good. I just happened to know
King Island cause we kinda grew up there.. my grandparents
used to own it b-4 houseboats were rented there.
And yes you can tow your boat behind, just keep it kinda short leashed
cause...again from experience ...there are tight corners, narrow sloughs
and many bridges. After many "happy hours" the h/b pilot forgot he was
dragging a boat! Long story real short..next morn. retracing our route,
found the bridge, the boat & the boat cops. Every thing turned out OK.
    You know...insurance !!!
Another "MUST" is our "LOST ISLE" no kiddies. Watch the vid in the link
above. This place can be OFF THE HOOK at times! I don't know you so I'll
be discrete(sp) GO THERE ! Only one word of advice. BUI. If you plan on
drinking (Happy Hour) park the h/b right there for the nite. The only way
to the Isle is by boat & the cops have drive/boat through checkpoints.
    Again, experience.
For more relaxing times, go a little north to the "meadows". Its not a
spot on the map, but stop by Whimpy's for a coctail & a burger, they'll
point you in the right direction.(The better ski'n spot in the north delta)
And don't forget about the gang a little south @ Discovery Bay! There
all over this forum. They'r a cool bunch to party with, just dont have
much time in that area to give you advise for.
Whoa, had 4 beers for that long winded sucker! Have a good trip,
when ya thinking about going ? Anyways there's so many options.
We'll be here for any questions ya'll have, or at least I'll fake it.
    Later, Wood
