Did you take the sending unit apart?
Chances are it is defective:jawdrop: loosen the two screws on it and move it around to see if it moves
On the trim guage the needle is stuck at the top of the guage. It will work for about 30 secs after starting the boat, then all the way to the top it go's. I have power to the guage, good ground, light works, but no power from the sending unit. Could the sending unit be bad? Where does the wire connect to the trim sending unit in the back of the boat?
It is a 98 25 daytona w/ a 454 mpi and bravo 1 drive.
Any info will help,
thanks

Most likely it is the trim senders and they are going to run you around $90.
Mine did the same thing. I just ordered mine from Merc, about $80. Local Merc mechanic coming over to assist in changing it out. I hear it's a real common death. Most people just leave it be. Drive and steering ring have to be removed to change them out. Lots of labor for a small piece.
yep. one of the wires snaped and that's what jacked it up.
thanks for the help
