definatly. the hole is only to hold the inserted sleeve in place without touching the mating surface of the two peices that are to be welded together. so yes, definatly weld the two main peices of tubing together. the sleeve will be held in place via the 1/4" holes drilled through the main tubing and welded to the sleeve through the main tubing, via the holes. is that making any sence? sorry, i tend to think much differantly than i type. the purpose of the holes is that you wont need to weld the sleeve to the main tubing at the jioning area, which leaves it clean to join the other half of the tubing against the other and have a clean mating surface. it comes out much nicer and is plenty strong.
